Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your Zanzibar escape begins the moment you land at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ). After a light lunch in Stone Town, you head to a working spice farm just outside the city, where a guide walks you through groves of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and cardamom — crushing leaves and peeling bark so you can smell and taste each spice at the source. This hands-on experience explains how Zanzibar earned its legendary nickname of "Spice Island."
By mid-afternoon your driver transfers you to the east coast — about an hour's drive across the island. As you arrive, the turquoise Indian Ocean comes into view and the island's slower rhythm takes hold.
