Tarangire National Park

Today you’ll be going on a guided game drive to look for Tarangire’s lions, elephants, cheetahs, and more. We think you’ll be impressed with Tarangire National Park, as visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees silhouetted against the sky that make this place feel like a fairy-tale African landscape.

  • Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tarangire National Park.

DAY 3:

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you’ll go on a guided game drive through Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s more unusual parks. The guide will help you look for the park’s elephants and tree-climbing lions, wading birds, plenty of olive baboons, and dense forests that make you feel that exciting animals could emerge from the trees at any moment.

  • Morning Game Drive: Explore Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife.
  • Afternoon: Leisure time at the lodge with optional activities like a village tour.
  • Accommodation: Near Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Karatu.

DAY 4:

Ngorongoro Conservation Crater:

Explore beautiful Ngorongoro Crater with an expert guide on your guided game drive this morning. As you drive around the crater floor, you might see lions, black rhinos, spotted hyenas, and the other animals for which Ngorongoro is famous.

Ngorongoro is a special place, and the first time that you descend onto the crater floor is like no other safari experience in Africa. This is a world unto itself, one where you’ll encounter the crater’s 600-strong population of hyenas as well as critically endangered black rhinos. You’ll also find elephants with larger than-average tusks and more than 50 lions living in the crater. But it’s the sheer beauty of Ngorongoro that will most likely live longest in your memory.

  • Morning: Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the Big Five and other abundant wildlife.
  • Afternoon: Ascend to the rim and relax at the camp.

DAY 5:

Serengeti National Park:

Explore the beautiful savannahs of Serengeti National Park on a guided game drive with wide chance to witness great annual Wildebeest Migration.

Here you’ll discover just why so many safari visitors fall in love with the Serengeti. Keep an eye out for big cats, even bigger elephants, and almost every kind of safari wildlife you can imagine. You might also see giraffes, impalas, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and hundreds of other species of birds, and that may all be before breakfast. You’ll never forget watching these animals interact, whether you see a hunt, a vast herd, or a mother protecting her cub or calf. The Serengeti’s scenery is also unforgettable; observe Africa’s iconic acacia trees, the park’s golden grasslands, and great piles of boulders known as kopjes.

Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti

 There’s no such thing as too many days in the Serengeti to get to enjoy it all over again and again.

  • Full-Day Game Drive: Explore the Serengeti in-depth, seeking out predators and the Great Migration (depending on the time of year).
  • Accommodation: Central Serengeti National Park.

DAY 7:

Transferred to Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve:

Today, after an early breakfast, you’ll drive en route from Serengeti National Park to cross the Tanzania-Kenya border to Masai Mara National Reserve to have an evening game drive. Masai Mara National Reserve Big cats are sure to be a highlight of your time in the Masai Mara, with lions, leopards, and cheetahs all commonly seen stalking prey on the Masai Mara’s savannah grasslands. Elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and hyenas are also often seen here, sometimes in front of a background of flat-topped acacia trees. Impalas are everywhere. Bird watchers will also love the chance to see more than 500 bird species.

  • Morning Drive: Travel to the Tanzania-Kenya border, crossing at the Mara River.
  • Meet Guide in Kenya: Transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve for an evening game drive.
